PAYBACK launches nationwide with PENNY: First discount supermarket with UMT technology in Germany
PAYBACK, Germany’s largest bonus program, further expands its partner portfolio: As of today, PENNY offers, as the first discount supermarket in the program, its customers to conveniently collect valuable PAYBACK points while shopping. Points are available in all 2,180 PENNY stores throughout Germany and, at a later time, clients will also be able to collect points when shopping online at www.penny.de. Points can be collected at PENNY with all PAYBACK cards orwith the new card in the PENNY Look. Just as convenient is the use of the PAYBACK app, whose PAY function is based on UMT technology. With the app, customers at PENNY can collect points, activate coupons and pay with their mobile phones.

With around 2,180 stores and 27,000 employees, PENNY reached EUR 7.4 billion in revenues in 2017 in Germany alone. Abroad, PENNY realized EUR 4.5 billion in revenues, with over 1,400 stores and 21,000 employees.
The PAYBACK app is among the most popular and most successful shopping apps in Germany, with 14.5 million downloads.
